Written Answers. - Compensation Claims.
The amount paid by my Department in 1999 in respect of public liability compensation claims was £10,000, excluding legal fees. Legal fees amounting to £16,546 were paid in respect of this case and a case settled in 1998.
The compensation in 1999 was paid to one member of staff who sustained a personal injury while on departmental property.
Payment was made out of subhead A3 incidental expenses, of this Department's Vote.
