Vol. 517 No. 4

Written Answers. - Veterinary Inspections.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

153 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will arrange for a veterinary inspection for a company (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact the delay in approving the export licence is causing concern due to the potential loss of business. [10065/00]

While the premises referred to was close to reaching the standards required for full approval under Council Directive 91/497/EEC at the last inspection in January 2000, further additional work needs to be com pleted. Officials of my Department are now arranging for a further inspection to establish if the outstanding matters have been attended to. There may, however, be a difficulty in securing the veterinary resources to staff this premises.
