I propose to take Questions Nos. 117, 118, 120, 131 and 132 together.
In relation to the provision of affordable housing in Kildare, I refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions Nos. 247 to 249, inclusive, of 29 February 2000. The position has not changed.
Details regarding the affordable housing scheme have been requested from all local authorities, including Kildare, as part of overall monitoring of the scheme. Details of activity under the scheme, such as numbers of houses completed, commenced and in progress will be available on a quarterly basis, similar to other social housing schemes, and will be published in my Department's quarterly and annual housing statistics bulletin commencing with the March 2000 quarterly bulletin.
The affordable housing scheme was launched in March 1999 and some 40 houses were completed under the scheme by the end of the year. To date, a further 124 houses are under construction and approximately 1,800 are at various stages of planning.
The allocation of dwellings under the affordable housing scheme is a matter for individual local authorities and such information is not available in my Department.
