158 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a section 49 registration will be completed for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that this matter has been ongoing since December 1998. [10282/00]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 – i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession – of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 15 December 1998. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, take some time to process.
I am further informed that notice has been served on 26 March 2000 on all parties whose interests may be affected by the application in so far as such parties can be identified. If no objections are received within a month the case will proceed towards registration.
159 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when transactions pending on a folio (details supplied) in County Mayo in the Land Registry office will be completed. [10284/00]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that an application for a filed plan of folio 13132 Mayo, lodged on 20 January 2000, was completed on 24 January 2000. It is presumed that the filed plan which issued on 24 January 2000 is that which the Deputy states was issued on 31 January 2000. The copy filed plan as issued shows the correct boundaries. However, part of the filed plan is issued on a 25 inch scale and part is issued on a six inch scale. The reason for this is that no 25 inch scale map has been published in respect of the portion shown on the six inch scale.
I am further informed by the Registrar of Titles that there is no record of applications dated 23 June 1999, 14 October 1999, 20 December 1999, 19 January 2000, 2 February 2000, 15 March 2000 or 29 March 2000 having been received by the Land Registry.
If the Deputy can let me have copies of the said applications or the dealing numbers I will have further inquiries made in the matter.
