235 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the way in which the Dúchas scientific statement on the Doonbeg special area of conservation came to be in the possession of a company (details supplied); and the way in which this company was in a position to submit a scientific statement to An Bord Pleanála on 22 March 2000 in support of its application. All Dúchas reports and statements relating to important ecological sites are available to anyone on request. Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department provided the company with a copy of this statement. Dúchas also formally provided An Bórd Pleanála with a copy of the report following a request from the board.

I am unable to comment on the workings of the company and the Deputy may wish to take this matter up directly with it.
