Vol. 518 No. 3

Written Answers. - State Property.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

142 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Finance if he has examined an application from a person (details supplied) in County Carlow to purchase a plot of land in Leighlinbridge, County Carlow; and the reasons, if any, for the delay in dealing with the application which was made in 1987. [11533/00]

The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform notified the Commissioners of Public Works of the application in question in 1996. The Department was advised that the commissioners would dispose of the plot by public competition if it was deemed surplus to State requirements. No decision has yet been taken in this regard. If it is decided to dispose of the plot, the Commissioners of Public Works will notify the applicant.
