Michael Creed

Ceist:

190 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork under the agriculture installation aid grant; and if this person will be approved for the higher rate of payment. [12359/00]

Under the current national scheme of installation aid, a grant of £5,600 is payable to applicants who fulfil the terms and conditions of the scheme.

The person named made a successful application under this scheme and a payment of £5,600 issued on 7 April 2000.

Ceist:

191 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a company (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a grant, approved under EU Regulations 2200/96, in view of the fact payment was expected in January 2000. [12360/00]

This company, which is a recognised producer group, under Council Regulation 2200/96, completed the first year of its operational programme on 31 December 1999 The company applied for aid on 31 January 2000. As required under the regulation, my Department forwarded relevant details of the aid applied for to the EU Commission. On 12 April 2000, the commission declared a ceiling of 3.61% on the level of assistance to be paid.

My Department is obliged under the regulations to carry out checks to ensure compliance with the conditions for grant aid. If all is in order on the completion of these checks, payment will be made shortly thereafter.
