Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Land Dispute.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

243 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the progress, if any, in respect of a dispute in relation to lands at Ballybride Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6, in view of the fact that this dispute has been ongoing for several years and in view of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 245 of 8 February 2000 (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12527/00]

As indicated in the reply to which the Deputy refers, the Chief State Solicitor made an offer of settlement to solicitors acting for the person in question in 1999 but received no response. As he indicated, through the Deputy, that he was unaware of this offer the Chief State Solicitor wrote to him directly on 29 April 2000 restating the terms offered. A reply is awaited. The commissioners are proceeding with arrangements to re-sell the property in question.
