Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Primary Care.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

276 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the proposals, if any, he has to have discussions with the Irish Medical Organisation and the ICGP in relation to their proposed restructuring of primary care; and the plans, if any, he has to discuss the way in which their restructuring will interact with other aspects of the health services. [12345/00]

I will be happy to have discussions with the Irish Medical Organisation and the Irish College of General Practitioners at any time on their proposals for the development of primary care. After such discussions and in the further context of the review of general practitioner services, currently being undertaken by the health board chief executive officers, I will have further discussions with such parties as are necessary to implement change as is required.
