Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Ceist:

290 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made with the Eastern Health Board on when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 will receive orthodontic treatment in view of the fact that this person was assessed for treatment over two years ago and is currently in need of treatment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12485/00]

As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in Dublin 24 is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority I have asked the regional chief executive of that health authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

291 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 109 of 9 March 2000, and Parliamentary Question No. 258 of 8 February 2000, the information has been collected by his Department from health boards regarding the number of nursing home beds per thousand of population in each health board area, the number of public and private beds and the public and private share in each of those areas; and if so, if he will give details in this regard. [12486/00]

The number of public and private beds for the care of older people as at March 2000 has been supplied by the health boards and the Eastern Regional Health Authority and is set out in the following table.
