427 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he has received a proposal from the Bray Travellers Network; if he will consider this application favourably in view of the valuable work being done by this organisation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department currently provides funding of £20,000 per annum to Bray Travellers Development Network under the programme of core funding to locally based community and family support groups. Funding at this level has been agreed for the term 1999 to 2001.
An application for increased funding was received in the Department on 20 April 2000 from the group. This proposal is currently being assessed, with reference to current funding commitments and the level of available resources. The group will be notified as soon as a decision regarding this request has been made.
