Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

206 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to the transfer of lands (details supplied) in County Offaly; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14634/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application under Section 49 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, which was lodged on 16 December 1999.

I am further informed that the application is receiving attention and that the Land Registry will be in correspondence with the applicant's solicitors shortly.

207 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the steps, if any, he will take to expedite an application by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath for registration of his property; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14635/00]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a transmission on death which was lodged on 5 May 2000 and should be completed shortly.

208 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the steps, if any, he will take to expedite an application for first registration by a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14636/00]

I refer the Deputy to my previous answer to PQ. 25240/99 on 30 November, 1999.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that, as previously advised, this application for first registration has been the subject of numerous queries to the lodging solicitors, with the latest queries issuing on 26 November 1999. To date no reply has been received. I am further informed that on receipt of a satisfactory response to these queries the matter will be dealt with as soon as possible.
