Vol. 521 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

David Andrews

Ceist:

296 Mr. Andrews asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to proposals in relation to a listed building (details supplied) in County Dublin which is in good structural condition and includes a school hall, chapel and library; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that these buildings are the last remaining original buildings on the campus of a distinguished educational establishment which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16660/00]

An extension project at the school referred to by the Deputy is progressing through architectural planning presently. The design team, which has been employed by the managerial authorities of the school, is aware of the listed status of certain elements of the building. This matter and related planning issues are being examined at present in consultation with the local authority.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

297 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress to date on the school building project (details supplied) in County Carlow. [16661/00]

Architectural planning for an extension at the school in question is proceeding as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department.
