Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

125 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Finance if he will process an application for tax returns made by a person (details supplied) in County Carlow for the 1999 tax year. [17266/00]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the Inspector of Taxes has no record of any correspondence from the taxpayer relating to the tax year 1999-00. However, on the basis of information currently available, the inspector has carried out an interim review of the taxpayer's liability for 1999-00. The outcome of this interim review is that a refund of £174.77 is due. A cheque for this amount will issue to the taxpayer shortly.

I am further informed that the inspector has written to the taxpayer requesting additional information regarding her tax affairs. Upon receipt of this information, the inspector will be in a position to conduct a complete review of the taxpayer's liability for the 1999-00 tax year.
