Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Special Amenity Area Orders.

Thomas P. Broughan

Ceist:

184 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason he did not send a copy of the confirmation order of the Howth SAAO to Deputy Broughan; and if he will now make a copy available to Deputies. [17103/00]

On 16 May 2000 I confirmed, subject to minor modification, the Fingal County Council (Howth) Special Amenity Area Order, 1999. In accordance with section 43(4) of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, the Fingal County Council (Howth) Special Amenity Area Order (Confirmation) Order, 2000, was laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas on 18 May 2000. If a resolution annulling the order is passed by either House within 21 sitting days after the order was laid before it, then the order shall be annulled accordingly.

The order is, therefore, available for consultation by Deputies in the Oireachtas Library. Copies of the confirmation order have also been forwarded to Fingal County Council and to all those parties who were represented at the public inquiry into the special amenity area order.
