Vol. 521 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Joe Higgins

Ceist:

185 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the contract for the major upgrading of Dublin Corporation's water supply at Ballymore Eustace, County Wicklow, will go out to tender; and if the operation of the plant by private contractors, subsequent to upgrading, will be part of the contract. [17152/00]

The expansion of the Ballymore Eustace water supply scheme has been approved to proceed as a public private partnership project on the design/build/operate/ finance model. A brief for the appointment of consultants by Dublin Corporation to prepare contract documents for the project was approved by the Department in November 1999.
