Ceist:306 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction an extra teacher for St. Malachy's boys national school, Edenmore, Dublin 5; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17286/00]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that, under new arrangements which I announced recently, the principal in St. Malachy's boys national school will be appointed in an administrative capacity from 1 September 2000 and, accordingly, the appointment of an additional mainstream teacher will be sanctioned from the same date, 1 September, this year.
