112 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on the current safety levels on incineration; if his Department has studied recent US studies in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17867/00]
I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 23, 92 and 100 of 25 May 2000.
Since then, on 14 June 2000, the US Environmental Protection Agency, which is engaged in a comprehensive reassessment of dioxin science, has published two chapters of a proposed report on this subject, for the purpose of submitting them to independent peer review. My Department and the EPA are currently examining this material.
