Vol. 521 No. 6

Written Answers. - Admission Charges.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

88 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the discount off adult charge rates which are made by his Depart ment or agencies under the aegis of his Department to children; the age range which defines children; if he will further give details of the discount off the adult charge rates which are made to students; and the criteria for recognising students. [17815/00]

It is understood that the Deputy's question refers to admission charges. My Department does not collect any admission charges. However, the Office of Public Works, which is an agency under the aegis of my Department, charges the following admission rates for entrance to Dublin Castle in respect of guided tours.

Adult

£3.00

OAP/Student

£2.00

Child

£1.00

Children's rates are charged up to age 12 and student rates are charged on production of a student's card.
In addition to the above discounts shown, all organised school tours, other than language schools, are admitted free. This applies to schools throughout the 32 counties.
