570 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging an appointment with a neurologist for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is under two years of age and requires corrective surgery as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19937/00]

The provision of medical services to eligible persons in County Kilkenny in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

571 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging tests at the Mater Hospital, Dublin, for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is a public patient and has a serious heart complaint; if a waiting list exists; the length of time people are expected to wait on the list; and the steps being taken to eliminate the lists. The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
