666 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received requests for funding from the Institute of Design and Disability in order to have the Barcelona Declaration adopted by all local authorities by 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19419/00]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

I have received requests, by or on behalf of the Institute of Design and Disability, for grant funding of up to £15,000 for the purpose referred to by the Deputy. I have informed the institute that I regret that there are no funds available to my Department from which such a grant could be made.
