Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Inspections.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

846 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when Dúchas will call to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, in view of the fact he has stopped the building of his slatted shed months ago until the visit takes place and he is very anxious to con tinue the building work to house his livestock for the winter. [20376/00]

The first approach to my Department about the case referred to by the Deputy was on Friday, 29 September 2000, when Mayo County Council requested by fax that officials of my Department carry out an urgent inspection of the site in question. I have asked that my officials treat the matter as urgent and that the necessary inspections be carried out as soon as possible.
