Statutory Instrument to amend the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 (Electronic Recording of Interviews) Regulations, 1997.

The Criminal Justice Act, 1984 (Electronic Recording of Interviews) Regulations, 1997 are being amended in advance of the introduction of audio and video recording of Garda interviews with suspects in Garda stations on a national basis to reflect changes which are deemed appropriate arising from the pilot trials which were conducted by the steering committee chaired by the Hon. Mr. Justice Esmond Smyth, President of the Circuit Court.
