Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Michael D. Higgins

Ceist:

901 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will reconsider the visa refusal to a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19819/00]

The visa application in question was refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of the study visa and in particular that he would return home following his visit. The applicant's reference in Ireland was advised in writing of the reason for refusal.

I have reviewed the application but regret that, in the absence of additional supporting information, I am unable to overturn the decision in this case.
