The person referred to applied for asylum on 20 January 2000. Her claim was assessed following an interview on 17 February 2000 and was deemed to be manifestly unfounded. The person referred to was informed of this decision in writing on 12 July 2000. In informing her of this decision, the person referred to was informed that it was proposed to make a deportation order in respect of her and affording her the opportunity to either leave the State voluntarily, consent to a deportation order or make representations in writing as to why she should not be deported.
Representations were received subsequently from her legal representatives and these will be considered in the context of the examination of her case under the provisions of section 3(6) of the Immigration Act, 1999.
