Written Answers. - Proposed Statutory Instruments.
The statutory instruments listed underneath are being prepared by the Central Statistics Office.
1. Statistics (Census of Population) Order, 2000. Purpose: to provide for the conduct of a census of population in 2001.
2. Statistics (Labour Costs in Industry and Services) Order, 2000. Purpose: to allow for the holding of a labour costs survey in respect of the year 2000.
3. Statistics (Census of Building and Construction) Order, 2000. Purpose: to allow for the holding of annual censuses of building and construction for the years up to 2003.
4. Statistics (Business Registers) Order, 2000. Purpose: to allow for the compilation for statistical purposes of a register of businesses.
5. Statistics (Marine) Order, 2000. Purpose: to allow for the quarterly collection of statistics on carriage of goods and passengers by sea.
