Ceist:

1099 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the provision of an additional classroom at Dalystown national school, County Westmeath; and the timescale for these works. [20571/00]

Architectural planning for the provision of additional accommodation at Dalystown national school is under way at present. It is not possible at this point to say when construction will commence; however, the school authorities will be notified of progress as it happens.

1100 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress, if any, which has been made regarding the provision of science laboratories at Loreto College, Mullingar, County Westmeath; the stage this application is at; and the likely timescale for these works. [20572/00]

An application has been received for the provision of additional accommodation including science laboratories at Loreto College, Mullingar, County Westmeath.

The project is currently at stage 1 of my Department's design team procedures – site suitability, briefing and site report. The post primary building unit of my Department awaits additional information from the school authority in this matter.

It is too early in the architectural planning process to say when this project is likely to go on site.

1101 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of the application for an extension to St. Mary's C.B.S. Mullingar, County Westmeath; and the timescale for completion of such works. [20573/00]

An application has been received for an extension at St. Mary's C.B.S. Mullingar, County Westmeath. The post primary building unit of my Department awaits tender documents from the school authority for approval. Once these documents are received, and if found to be satisfactory, the matter of allowing the project to proceed to tender will be determined.

Architectural planning for additional accommodation at Clonmellon national school is proceeding as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department.

It is not possible at this point to say when construction will commence, however, the school authorities will be notified of progress as it happens.

1103 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the current situation concerning the provision of a new community college at Castlepollard, County Westmeath, to replace the existing Coláiste Cionn Torc. [20575/00]

The balance of the payment for the acquisition of a site for a new community college at Castlepollard, County Westmeath to replace the existing Coláiste Cionn Torc was made to County Westmeath Vocational Education Committee in August 2000.

Stage 2 of my Department's design team procedures – outline sketch scheme – was recently approved. The post primary building unit awaits a stage 3 submission – developed sketch scheme.
