Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Michael D. Higgins

Ceist:

1114 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science when he expects the national school at Littlepace, Castaheny, Dublin 15, to be built; if he will give an updated report on the progress in providing a primary school in the area; if he will make a statement on the cost of acquiring a site for the national school; and if he will make a statement and indicate when it is planned to open this primary school in an area of massive housing development. [20646/00]

Architectural planning for the development of the national school at Littlepace, Castaheny, Dublin 15 is progressing satisfactorily. While my Department is conscious of the need for the development, it is not possible at this point to say when construction will commence. As final contract documents have not yet been signed in relation to the acquisition of the site, I am not yet in a position to disclose the cost involved.
