Vol. 523 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Transport.

John Perry

Ceist:

1124 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 252 of 5 April 2000, the progress made on the provision of a parking bay for the five buses at Coláiste Mhuire, Ballymote, County Sligo, in view of the fact that an area of ground has been made available; the negotiations and meetings that have taken place in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20656/00]

My Department is not aware of lands having been acquired for the provision of a parking bay at Coláiste Mhuire in Ballymote. It is understood that negotiations to acquire lands are proceeding. However, a range of complex issues require to be resolved before this matter can be progressed including land ownership matters, the proximity of vehicular traffic to pedestrian traffic and related issues.
