223 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if, in the event of the provision of further regional colleges, he will consider the location of such in County Kildare, having particular regard to the ever increasing needs of industry and an increasing population; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are no plans to establish any new institutes of technology. The needs of the region which includes County Kildare are served by the institutes of technology at Tallaght, Blanchardstown and Carlow and the Dublin Institute of Technology. This is in addition to the provision of third level places in the universities in Dublin and Kildare.
