155 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps he proposes to take to resolve the ongoing dispute over the pension entitlements of retired consultants; and if discussions have taken place with the Department of Finance on this issue. [19473/00]
Proposals for the resolution of the dispute in relation to the payment of revised pensions to hospital consultants who retired before June 1991 have been presented to the representatives of the retired consultants concerned. While certain issues have yet to be finally clarified, it is anticipated that the offer will be accepted.
