302 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the discussions that have taken place between his Department and the Southern Health Board regarding the new extension to the cardiac department of the Cork University Hospital, County Cork; and when the Department will approve a design team for the development. A project team overseeing this development is in place comprising hospital representatives and officials from my Department. The team has agreed the functional content of the proposed development. The design brief is being drafted and I am advised that this should be completed by the end of the year. A request by the board for the appointment of a design team is currently under consideration.
