Ceist:

333 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children when professional assessment will be carried out by the Midland Health Board on a number of students in a County Westmeath school (details supplied); and if, in view of the fact that these children were referred for assessment quite some time ago, he will have these tests expedited. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of services to persons with special needs in the Westmeath region is the responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. I have forwarded the inquiry to the chief executive officer of the board for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
