494 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will consider favourably an application from St. Brigid's secondary school, Goresbridge, County Kilkenny, through Kilkenny VEC, for community college status; if he will confirm receipt of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

This matter has been the subject of discussions between the VEC and my officials. I am prepared to consider such a proposal if the committee makes a detailed submission to my Department in that regard.
