123 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Defence if he has now received the report of the UNIFIL board of inquiry into the accident in the Lebanon on 14 February 2000 in which four soldiers died; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22987/00]
As I previously indicated to the House the UNIFIL board of inquiry into the accident which occurred on 14 February 2000 in Lebanon which resulted in the tragic deaths of Pte. Declan Deere, Pte. Brendan Fitzpatrick, Pte. Matthew Lawlor, and Pte. John Murphy has been completed.
A copy of the board's report has been requested from the UN. The Department of Foreign Affairs has advised that it expects that the report will be made available by the end of this month.
