Vol. 524 No. 5

Written Answers. - Rail Services.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

191 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will give a date for the com pletion of the double track line from Connolly Station, Dublin 1 to Maynooth, County Kildare; and when the proposed 20 minutes Arrow service from Maynooth to Connolly Station will commence. [23047/00]

I refer the Deputy to my response to Questions Nos. 75, 76 and 81 on 19 October, 2000.

Iarnrod Eireann has informed me that work on the doubling of the existing single track between Clonsilla and Maynooth completed by the end of this year. The company also expects that additional services will be introduced in early January 2001 and the draft schedule for these services reflects a fifty percent increase on current service levels during peak periods.
