Vol. 525 No. 4

Written Answers. - Inland Fisheries.

Liam Lawlor

Ceist:

70 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if a fish stocking project for the artificially created lakes at Corkagh Park, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, has been completed; and the level of support and assistance provided by this Department to the local authority in advancing of the project. [25299/00]

This project comprises the excavation of artificial lakes for angling at Corkagh Park, Clondalkin. The project, which is promoted by South Dublin County Council, was approved for funding under the tourism angling measure, TAM of the operational programme for tourism in May 1998. The total cost of the project is £361,675 and grant-aid of £162,754 was approved by the TAM management committee.

The Central Fisheries Board, which has day to day responsibility for the administration of the TAM, informs me that the project is due to be completed in December 2000 and that it understands that the stocking of the lakes with fish is expected to take place in spring 2001.
