Vol. 525 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

83 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive his 2000 cattle and sheep headage. [25263/00]

One of the parcels claimed by the person named in his 2000 area aid application overlaps with a parcel of land claimed by another applicant. Both herd owners have been written to with a view to resolving the problem and a response is awaited. No payments can issue until the matter has been resolved.

Ceist:

84 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive cattle headage and suckler cow premium for 2000. [25264/00]

The person included 30.99 hectares in his 2000 area aid application. An area of 30.24 hectares was determined which is some 0.75 hectares or 2.48% less than the area claimed.

Under Article 9 of EU Regulation 3887/92, no penalty is applied when the difference is less than 3%. Therefore, in this case no penalty is applied, leaving the area determined for payment purposes at 30.24 hectares. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
