88 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Finance if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 2 and grant her a transfer to County Sligo in view of the fact that her place of employment will be relocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25353/00]
The situation is that transfers to provincial locations for members of the grade concerned are arranged in accordance with an agreement reached with the staff side at general council under the conciliation and arbitration scheme for the Civil Service. The officer's application has been forwarded to Departments with offices in Sligo for consideration should her placing on the relevant transfer list be reached. With regard to the relocation of a particular section of the Department of Public Enterprise from the city centre, the relocation of the staff is intended to be on a voluntary basis.
