103 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children the total number of nursing vacancies in each health board area at the present time; the plans he has to fill these vacancies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25341/00]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

A nationwide survey of nursing vacancies existing on 30 September 2000 is currently being undertaken by the Health Service Employer Agency on behalf of my Department. When this survey has been completed, I will transmit the results to the Deputy.
