Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Croke Park Development.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

379 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has received a request for additional funding from the GAA towards the further development of Croke Park; if so, the plans he has in this regard; if he will raise with Croke Park and the GAA authorities the issue of access to Croke Park for other sports; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26243/00]

Grants totalling £25 million have been allocated by my Department towards phases one and two of the Croke Park development. My Department has not received a request for additional funding from the GAA in respect of the further development of Croke Park.

As the GAA is an autonomous body, any proposals on the issue of access to Croke Park for other sports would be a matter for them in the first instance.
