Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

382 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the full list of organisations that applied for capital grants since February 2000; the amount applied for; and the cost of the project and the amount received, county by county. [26643/00]

The information requested by the Deputy in relation to the 2000 sports capital programme is being compiled and will be forwarded to him separately. Meanwhile, I have outlined below a summary of the information requested: total number of applications – 1,650; estimated total cost of all projects – £384.774 million; total funding sought – £183.941 million; total funding allocated – £36 million; number of successful applications approved – 677.

The amounts allocated, county by county, are shown at appendix 1.

The 2000 sports capital programme grant allocations were announced, less a small number of allocations to particular projects yet to be finalised, in July this year and I am planning for the 2001 programme to be announced in December.
