393 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education and Science if the NCAA has completed its consultation with the relevant interest groups on the content of the draft syllabi for physical education for second level; if it will be an examination subject in 2001-2002 academic year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The closing date for submission of responses arising from the consultation process on the new syllabi in physical education is end of December 2000. The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment will compile the responses early in the new year. On the basis of the findings of the consultation process the various syllabi will be revised and submitted by the NCCA to me for approval.
