Ceist:

420 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position with regard to restructuring work on the Church of Ireland national school in Rockcorry, County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26542/00]

The school authorities have been advised to consult with the project architect regarding the planning permission for the work in question. My Department will process the project as speedily as possible on receipt of all relevant documentation.

421 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position with regard to the provision of the new school for Clontibret primary school, County Monaghan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26543/00]

My Department has requested the prop erty management section of the Office of Public Works, which is acting on behalf of my Department in relation to site acquisitions generally, to acquire a site for a new school at Clontibret, County Monaghan.

As soon as the acquisition has been finalised, my Department will be in contact with the school authorities. It is too early to say at this point when construction will commence.

Architectural planning for the provision of a new school at Corcaghan, County Monaghan, is at an advanced stage. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
