126 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the concern among some of the education partners at his lack of accessibility to them; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26518/00]
Since my appointment as Minister for Education and Science I have met twice with each of the three teacher unions on a formal basis and I have had meetings with a large number of education organisations, student representatives and management organisations. I am, of course, in continuous contact with these bodies through my officials and also meet with them informally on numerous occasions. Each week I also meet with deputations from schools, education institutions and other groups and bodies. I have also visited a large number of schools and colleges right across the country where, in addition to meeting the pupils, teachers, management boards and parents, I have met with many local groups and deputations. I am, of course, available to meet with any of the education partners or any other group or organisation at a mutually suitable time.
