Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registered Aircraft.

Noel O'Flynn

Ceist:

171 Mr. O'Flynn asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the year of construction or first registration, whichever is available, and the registration letters of any Irish registered aircraft and for aircraft registered in other jurisdictions if such information is available which were constructed prior to 1981 and are currently licensed for carriage of fare-paying passengers to or from Ireland; and the name of the owner and operator. [27234/00]

The maintenance of a register of civil aircraft is a statutory function of the Irish Aviation Authority. Accordingly, the information requested by the Deputy in relation to the registration details of Irish registered aircraft is held by the IAA and, as it is a matter of public record, is available for inspection, on request, from the IAA.

Similarly, in relation to aircraft registered in other jurisdictions, the information requested by the Deputy is available from the civil aviation authorities of the countries concerned.
