Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Psychiatric Service.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

240 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the South Eastern Health Board has not contacted a person (details supplied) in County Carlow and no arrangement to date has been made for the person to see the consultant psychiatrist (details supplied); if he will intervene and appoint a senior official to investigate the case. [27201/00]

I have been advised by the South Eastern Health Board that the person concerned has been referred to the consultant psychiatrist for an over view and recommendation for further management. An appointment is also to be arranged with a consultant psychiatrist who specialises in the field of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, ADHD. The health board has also confirmed that this case is under active management by the board's social work department.
