Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Austin Currie

Ceist:

273 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason his Department has not provided funding necessary to implement phase one of the development of James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, as the out-patients department, the department of physical medicine, the department of medicine for the elderly and the medical day ward have been omitted from phase one due to the level of funding and the overall costs involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27437/00]

The responsibility for the redevelopment of James Connolly Memorial Hospital now rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
