Ceist:

309 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will include Kilmacow sewerage scheme, County Kilkenny, as a stand-alone scheme rather than through the new public private partnership concept in view of the commitment given to proceed with this scheme as soon as possible in May 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27347/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 295, 297 and 309 together.

Kilmacow sewerage scheme is included in the water and sewerage services investment programme 2000-02 under the rural towns and villages initiative. A response is awaited from Kilkenny County Council to my Department's request of 23 August last for a report on the feasibility of advancing the scheme as a group design-build or design-build-operate contract in order to ensure that the scheme is procured in the most cost effective manner possible. Early consideration will be given to the report on receipt.
