358 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when an application for Irish citizenship by a Malaysian doctor (details supplied) will be finalised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27407/00]
The application for a certificate of naturalisation from the person referred to by the Deputy was submitted to my Department in June 1998 and is in the final stages of the process.
I expect to be in a position to advise both the applicant and the Deputy of my decision in this case shortly.
